Association des résidents de McGill | Association of Residents of McGill

Who we are

The ARM is a bilingual organization whose mission is to represent and support the residents of McGill- in all aspects of their life as residents. It accomplishes this through consistent interactions with residency programs, hospitals, the McGill Faculty of Medicine and the government. It is composed of McGill residents elected by their peers.

The ARM is devoted to the study, defense, and advancement of the economic, social, moral, and scientific interests of its community within the McGill academic health network.

Welcome

LETTER FROM THE ARM PRESIDENT (2017 - 2018)

President 2017-2018

President 2017-2018

Dear McGill Residents,

It’s a great honor to be the Association of Residents of McGill president for 2017-2018!

The ARM is proud and thrilled to be welcoming you for the upcoming academic year! We are looking forward to getting to know you, your interests and concerns.

We, at the ARM, are dedicated to ensuring your residency is as smooth and pleasant as possible. The ARM Board is composed of resident representatives from across all specialties at all McGill sites, who are just as dedicated to their residencies as they are to you.  They will be ensuring the collective agreement is respected and that residents are respected and protected. They will keep you informed of ongoing negotiations. They will promote resident wellness and ensure our social events are better and bigger than ever.

The upcoming year is HUGE. The collective agreement negotiations have begun and you will receive updates as they come. We are also improving our social media presence- making ARM more accessible to you. We continue to work on helping you navigate the difficult reality of the job market, on guiding you through the new (and better) competency by design program changes, and ensuring resident representation on multiple committees (CaRMS, FMOQ, FMSQ, etc.)

Amongst all your tedious tasks, we also know the importance of resident wellness and our zero tolerance to intimidation policy. Therefore, we are your voice in these matters and we raise awareness about different wellness initiatives.

You are not only just a resident, you are part of a larger McGill community and we hope with the upcoming social events (welcome party, Halloween party, ski trip, Formal, etc),  that you get to meet with your fellow colleagues.

Remember, we are here because of you and FOR YOU!

Have a great year and to many memorable times ahead.

Yours cordially,

DR. Bayane sabsabi, MD.

President | 2017-2018 | Association of Residents of McGill (ARM)
